ESR Functional Account Manager - East Midlands

Home based with extensive travel across the allocated region and nationally as required

There is now an opportunity to join the NHSBSA ESR Team and work with us to help NHS organisations maximise their use of ESR, make real cost savings, improve efficiency and productivity, and support the delivery of the NHS People Plan and local workforce strategy.

This role requires an ambitious, highly focussed and delivery orientated individual who will be responsible for influencing executives and managers at all levels in the NHS across the East Midlands, developing and managing sustainable regional relationships and networks.

As part of the NHSBSA ESR team you will play a key role in the delivery of our strategy at a regional and local level.  Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills are essential to joining a team that is passionate about helping the NHS get the most from ESR. 

You will report directly to the Senior Account Manager for the Midlands and East of England and will be part of an established team of NHS Functional Account Managers across the region. The role involves working with NHS organisations to drive the continued deployment and utilisation of the ESR functionality.

The successful candidate must demonstrate a sound understanding and  use of the ESR solution and the associated benefits, combined with excellent stakeholder relationship skills.

Main duties of the job

The role is responsible for:

  • Targeting full deployment and utilisation of ESR functionality, in particular, Self Service
  • Being the ‘user facing’ contact point for concerns across the ESR footprint
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders (ICS/ICBs, HRDs, DHRDs and regional stakeholders etc)
  • Establishing/developing, supporting and maintaining effective user forums within the allocated region
  • Acting as an ‘Ambassador’ for the overall ESR solution and service
  • Ensuring the effective cascade of ESR Communications
  • Proactively engaging with stakeholders at a local and regional level
  • Primary point of contact for users and stakeholders in the East Midlands region
  • Sourcing and developing examples of good practice, case studies and opportunities to promote the positive benefits of ESR

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • • Knowledge of the NHS Constitution and the wider NHS landscape

Skills

Essential criteria
  • High standard of oral and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with large groups and on an individual basis with staff at all levels up to board level.
  • Proven networking skills, ability to form and develop close working relationships with managers at all levels up to and including board level.
  • Negotiation & persuasion skills
  • Presentation skills.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Proven experience of managing stakeholder relationships.
  • Demonstrable project management experience
  • Evidence of working in a pressured and complex environment
  • Business process re-engineering

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Degree in relevant Discipline (eg. Public Sector Management)
  • Project Management Qualification – PRINCE2 Practitioner or equivalent
Desirable criteria
  • Postgraduate degree of professional qualification (eg CIPD)
