Are you an experienced Data Warehouse and BI Developer with a passion for big data and an ambition to improve our NHS services? Have you the technical track record to support the NHS and their use of Data?

We are looking for an experienced Data Warehouse and BI Developer who will be part of a highly skilled technical team who play a pivotal role in the development and execution of our business strategy. The NHSBSA produces vast amounts of data from the billions of transactions it performs every year across £36 billion of NHS activity; leveraging the value of this data is fundamental for the success of our strategy.  Your Data Warehouse and BI experience will ensure we can deliver at pace and with confidence in the security, accuracy and performance of our Enterprise Data Warehouse.

The post holder will be responsible for leading the design, development and implementation of data warehouse content for specified business services within the NHSBSA enterprise data warehouse. They will use their expertise in data management to drive the efficient delivery of business intelligence solutions and reporting outputs, as well as building solutions to underpin and accelerate data science and knowledge discovery.

They will be responsible for the full development lifecycle from stakeholder engagement; requirement gathering and data model design; meta data and data quality definition capture; database design, development and data model integration; through to data repository solution implementation in conjunction with the developers of related areas of the data warehouse.

The post holder will provide expert advice to ensure that data / insight requirements are included as part of all systems developments.  They will also provide leadership in transitioning from local reporting mechanisms to using advanced business intelligence tools.  More broadly, the post holder will be taking forward the Information Services vision by delivering strategic data solutions for the NHSBSA that facilitate the provision of accurate and reliable information to the NHS, government and other external bodies.

Although the data warehouse has been built using Oracle technology, candidates with experience of all data warehousing technologies are encouraged to apply.
