The NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA) is the main processing facility and centre of excellence for payment, reimbursement, remuneration and reconciliation for NHS Dental Practitioners, Pharmacists, NHS Pensions and other affiliated parties.

Architects in NHS BSA's IT teams work across the business to ensure a secure and reliable IT infrastructure that enables everyday efficiency, an exceptional customer experience and drives growth. Providing excellence in technology, transformation, MI and IT innovation, we also develop solutions for business strategies, transformation and change initiatives. Here you’ll find yourself at the heart of a dynamic, growing division where innovation and teamwork thrives.

The Role
Joining a team of architects designing technology solutions across a portfolio of change that encompasses customer experience digital channels and internal automation streams, you’ll take responsibility for solution design and architecture. That will include carrying out technology impact assessments and defining and applying standards, policy and procedures. You’ll also support the IT Operations team in aligning technical delivery and strategy, supporting effective architecture maturity and design governance, and escalating decision conflicts to deliver solutions. This is a highly collaborative role that will see you partner with business and technology experts, development partners and colleagues to deliver projects in the most customer-centric, efficient and effective way.

The Person

Of degree calibre in a relevant subject and ideally appropriately certified, you’ll have experience of designing, integrating and managing complex solutions, including infrastructure and security considerations. You will also have a thorough knowledge of hardware, software, application and systems engineering, and a track record of pragmatic application of SOA to deliver business value. Your experience should include Agile and Waterfall software development cycles, plus working with digital channels and technology, including content management systems, identity and access management systems. Along with excellent analytical and problem solving skills, you will also be a confident communicator who can create consensus with diverse stakeholders, are comfortable with ambiguity and are a strong strategic thinker.
