Who we are
We’re the NHS Business Services Authority. We provide critical central services to NHS organisations, NHS contractors, patients and the public. Have you had an EHIC card? Perhaps you’ve had an Exemption Certificate or have a Pre-payment Certificate to spread the cost of your prescriptions? We issue those. Maybe you’re a member of the NHS Pension Scheme? We administer the scheme on behalf of the Department of Health and Social Care. Ever applied for a vacancy on NHS Jobs? That’s one of our services too.
Our vision is to be the ‘delivery partner of choice’ for the NHS. Our values were developed with our people, for our people and they reflect the fact that we CARE passionately about what we do. They are to be Collaborative, Adventurous, Reliable, and Energetic. We know that how we approach our work contributes to our colleagues’ health, wellbeing, and sense of connection to the business. We aspire to be a great, inclusive place to work.
Our drive to make things easier for our customers has seen us increase the digitisation of our services and we’re using new technology to deliver efficiencies and improve the customer experience. We gather data and use it to help the NHS make more informed and effective decisions, as well as reduce fraud, error, and waste. We also see an opportunity to contribute to the wider health agenda in terms of prevention and health inequalities.
We’re doing exciting things in a complex and challenging landscape so come and join us.
What we offer
Come and work for us and you’ll receive a benefits package that rewards your hard work and commitment. Benefits you’ll receive include a minimum of 27 days annual leave per year which increases with length of service, plus Bank Holidays and the option to purchase additional leave, time off for volunteering, flexible working options, a generous Pension Scheme, access to loads of online and high street NHS Discounts including Apple Store, Sketchers, Nandos, and Vodafone, and perhaps most importantly – a work/life balance.
The NHS Business Services Authority is proactively helping the wider NHS in the fight against COVID-19, and it’s our people’s capabilities and experiences that are enabling us to do this. We have ambitious future plans for delivery, and our people are the key to us achieving these goals - without our people we would not be delivering exceptional achievements now, or in the future. We want our people to have the best colleague experiences, to be a great place to work and be an employer of choice. To achieve this our People Team has been transforming, and our aim is to be inclusive and compassionate in everything we do putting our internal customers at the centre, and being ambitious in what we want to achieve. This is a crucial and exciting time to join our People team here at the NHSBSA.
A key role within the Human Resources area of the People team is our Senior HR Business Partner and we are currently expanding this team and looking for an experienced HR Business Partner to join us.
Our Senior HR Business Partners will work very closely with specific business areas within the business, understanding both their operational and strategic goals to enable them to effectively partner and provide pro-active future people focused initiatives and solutions to achieve business success. They will have full accountability for the people agenda within their business areas, own the relationships with Senior Leaders and ensure engagement on delivery.
The NHSBSA is an evolving and changing business, and the Senior HR Business Partner will need to collaborate with leaders to support complex organisational change initiatives, including TUPE. These initiatives are at different levels of maturity within the Business, and will be a great opportunity for the Business Partner to be innovative and focus on both colleague and business need. They will also have full awareness of changes that are occurring within employment legislation, NHS Employers and from the Government, and take ownership of such complex changes.
Due to the current pandemic, this role will initially be based at home until we return to our office's when flexible working will be continued to be supported. The NHSBSA is located nationally and there will be a requirement for the Senior HR Business Partner to travel to the locations their business areas.
