The NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA) is the main processing facility and centre of excellence for payment, reimbursement, remuneration and reconciliation for NHS Dental Practitioners, Pharmacists, NHS Pensions and other affiliated parties.

ESR is the world class, national, integrated workforce solution for the NHS in England and Wales.

The NHS Electronic Staff Record (ESR) Programme is part of Workforce Services within NHS Business Services Authority.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Deputy Project Manager within the Projects function of the NHS ESR Systems Integration Team. With over 1500 interface instances already in use across the ESR user base, the programme is continually reviewing where new links between ESR and Third Party Solutions are required and would be beneficial to the NHS as a whole. The Projects function manages a number of concurrent projects delivering the development, implementation, roll-out and in some cases ongoing enhancement of these new interface processes.

Reporting to the Project Manager, the Deputy Project Manager will be responsible for deliverables relating to multiple projects at any one time. To support the Project Manager and Projects Team Lead on large scale implementation and development projects. To deliver project management support for the end to end project lifecycle including responsibilities for supporting, facilitating and monitoring progress of projects within and across sites. Projects will include technical change delivery with the ESR solution and national implementations across NHS Trusts. The post holder will also support continual performance improvement for existing System Integration Products.

The post will be based in Sheffield, but will require regular travel to other ESR Programme Offices, NHS User Organisations and third party suppliers, to facilitate the successful delivery of agreed work packages.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who has significant experience working within a Project Environment with good project management experience and knowledge of Prince II Project Management Principles. The ideal candidate will have experience of delivering change and working with senior level stakeholders. ESR system knowledge would be essential for the fulfilment of this role. The successful candidate will possess a flexible and ‘can do’ attitude, with strong organisation and analytical skills.

Full details of the requirements can be found in the job description and person specification.
